Includes the following licensees of the BOM:
• Banks
• Non-bank deposit taking institutions
• Cash Dealers

NON-BANKING

Complaints pertaining to non-banking institutions licensed by the Financial Services Commission

Includes the following licensees of the FSC:
• Insurance Companies
• Insurance Intermediaries
• Private Pension Schemes
• Leasing Companies (for finance leases)
• Other Persons and Businesses licensed under the relevant Acts of the FSC.

But excludes holders of a Category 1 Global Business licence.

We can help with complaints against financial institutions which are regulated by the Financial Services Commission or the Bank of Mauritius.
• Financial institutions are:
(a) any bank, non-bank deposit taking institution or cash dealer licensed by the central bank;
(b) any provider of financial services regulated under any relevant enactment.
• Financial Services:
(a) means any financial services or financial business activities regulated under the relevant enactments; and
(b) includes any services provided under the Securities (Central Depository, Clearing and Settlement) Act by a participant.
• Relevant enactments refer to:
(a) Bank of Mauritius Act
(b) Banking Act
(c) Captive Insurance Act
(d) Financial Services Act
(e) Insurance Act
(f) National Payment Systems Act 2018
(g) Private Pension Schemes Act
(h) Protected Cell Companies Act
(i) Securities Act
(j) Securities (Central Depository, Clearing and Settlement) Act
