The Ombudsperson for Financial Services
The Ombudsperson for Financial Services Act 2018 provides for an Office of Ombudsperson for Financial Services which shall be administered and managed by an Ombudsperson.
His Excellency, the President of the Republic has, in exercise of the powers vested in him by section 5 of the Ombudsperson for Financial Services Act 2018, and acting on the advice of the Honourable Prime Minister after consultation with the Leader of the Opposition, appointed Dr. Mitrajeet Dhaneshwar MARAYE as Ombudsperson for Financial Services for a period of four years.
Dr. MARAYE has, on 26 February 2021, taken the Oath of Office before His Excellency the President of the Republic.
The Office of Ombudsperson for Financial Services is a major pillar of the banking and financial sectors promoting trust and integrity among stakeholders in a prudentially regulated environment
