<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #333333;\">(2) Assist the Ombudsperson in dealing with complaints made by consumers of financial services against regulated financial institutions; and<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #333333;\">(3) Act without fear or favour and shall not be subject to the directions or control of any other person or authority in the exercise of its functions.<\/span><\/p><\/div><div style=\"margin-bottom: 10px;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Our range of powers are summarised below:<\/span><\/div><div style=\"line-height: 25px;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">1.\u00a0 Investigation<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #333333;\">2.\u00a0 Mediation<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #333333;\">3.\u00a0 Hearing<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #333333;\">4.\u00a0 Make an Award and issue directives<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #333333;\">5.\u00a0 Enter premises<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #333333;\">6.\u00a0 Request for information <\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #333333;\">7.\u00a0 Issue instructions and guidelines or impose such other requirements <\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #333333;\">8.\u00a0 Share information and, where appropriate, enter into a Memorandum of Understanding, with any relevant supervisory or regulatory authority or law enforcement agency<\/span><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Role The Office of Ombudsperson for Financial Services was created under the Ombudsperson for Financial Services Act (\u2018Act\u2019).
